Locking user account in FreeBSD

Locking user accounts in FreeBSD is simple. This can come in handy when an account needs suspended

  •  Locking Account
  1. pw lock <username>
  • Unlocking Account
  1. pw unlock <username>
  • Examples

If a user account on the machine is named “john” then the following would lock and unlock the account

  1.   pw lock john
  2.   pw unlock john
