How to run BattleField 2

BattleField 2 is a modern multiplayer warfare flares in Digital Illusion’s Battlefield 2. As in the developer’s original Battlefield 1942, the focus of Battlefield 2 is on fast-paced, vehicle-enabled, online combat for a large group of players — the sequel supports as many as 64 on a single map.

  • Connecting to game server
  1. Open Putty
  2. Enter in server hostname that was emailed to you
  3. Login using the user information that was in the Activation Email
  4. In command prompt type screen -S bf2 (keeps game server from crashing when you disconnect)
  5. In command prompt type /home/”USER”/.gameservers/bf2/bin/ia-32/bf2
  6. Once loaded use ctrl-a-d to detach from the screen
  7. In command prompt type screen -x bf2 to reattach to the screen
  8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 to detach and reattach

To exit the screen while attached type exit
